Used in dental preparations, and as a fragrance component in toothpastes, soaps, cosmetics and perfumes. Used in the production of printing ink, glue and varnish. Traditional uses: for toothache, colds, flu and fungal infections, as a mosquito repellent, to relieve fatigue and melancholy, as an aphrodisiac.
Constituents: Eugenol, eugenyl acetate, caryophyllene, isocaryophyllene Contra-indications: Clove is highly irritating to the skin and must be diluted to concentrations less than 1% prior to use. |
