Foraha or Tamanu Oil

Botanical: Calophyllum Inophyllum

This beautiful opalescent cold pressed green, slightly waxy oil is rich and thick, with a delicate nutty or spicy smell.

It is a pure extract from Foraha tree, a wild tree in Madagascar, the nuts are dried in the sun for approximately two months while still in their slightly-cracked shells, then they are cold-pressed to extract the oil. 200 pounds of the fruits extract only about 10 pounds of foraha oil. The Oil extracted is 100% pure Foraha Oil with no additives, and does not contain any artificial chemicals.

And since this is a rather thick oil, you should always stir well before using to allow any matter which may have settled at the bottom of the container to become well mixed once again.

Properties: Analgesic,  anti-inflammatory ,  cicatrizing , stimulates cell regeneration

Scents: Foraha oil, also known as Tamanu oil, has a unique and distinctive aroma. The scent of Foraha oil is often described as nutty, earthy, and slightly musky. It carries a deep, rich, and somewhat pungent fragrance. Some people also detect a hint of sweetness in its aroma.

The scent profile of Foraha oil can vary depending on the quality and extraction process of the oil. Cold-pressed Foraha oil tends to retain more of its natural scent compared to refined or deodorized versions. The aroma may be more pronounced in unrefined Foraha oil.

While some individuals find the scent of Foraha oil pleasant, it is important to note that others may find it strong or acquired.

The aroma typically dissipates relatively quickly upon application, leaving behind the beneficial properties of the oil for skincare or hair care purposes, and leaves no grease on your skin.
